The CLV Phoenix is Cramlington Learning Village's student-run school newspaper. We may be running our newspaper a bit differently this year, but we are still publishing articles and looking for new writers. Why should you join the CLV Phoenix? Here are our top 7 reasons why you should get involved:
Make your voice heard - is their a topic or issue you want people to know about? Spread the word!
Write about anything you like - whether you're interested in music, books, football, history, science, basketball: you can choose to write an article about any topic you want.
Fun challenges and prizes - take part in our Photo of the Week competition, write for special themed weeks, and win prizes for the most number of articles in a term!
Great to put on CVs and university personal statements - show universities and employers that you're dedicated to extracurricular activities and enjoy your subject/area of work.
Become an editor - apply to become a category editor and you can help manage a team of writers, plan themed weeks and much more!
Get involved in our school community - you can report on school events, interview visiting authors, produce match reports of sporting events and review our theatre productions.
Your articles can be anonymous - you can put your name on your article when it gets published on our website or leave it anonymous - it’s completely up to you.
