Award-winning author Susin Nielsen from Canada has recently been to visit CLV. She has written many books such as “Word nerd”, “We Are All Made of Molecules” and her new book that has just been released in the UK “No Fixed Address”. She has also worked in TV production on shows such as “Hartland”.
Susin’s books are mostly on drama and stories where “the adults won’t swoop in and save the day”. As well as this, a lot of them are also based on real life things; in many of her books the main character is raised by a single mother as Susin herself was raised by a single mother. All of Susin’s books are telling everyone the hardships of life in hope that other people feeling the same way are not alone and can have a character to relate to.
Her new book “No Fixed Address” is based on 12 year old Felix Knutsson who lives with his mother Astrid in a van. Felix and his mother move from place to place, and they don’t have that much money. This is when Felix has an idea; he wants to go on his favourite game show and win lots of money. Enough money so they can have a official home. This premise of the story leads to an exciting tale worth the read.
