Their appearances.

Sphynx cats have lemon eyes, nimble toes and a round belly. Sphynx cats are known for their hairless body,but did you know the first ever sphynx cat wasn't hairless? The sphynx cat has ears in the shape of a bat's ear and weighs 2.5-5.5 kg. Sphynx cats come in many different colours and coat patterns.


The pros of a sphynx cat

  • highly playful

  • will find diverse activities around the house to keep entertained

  • they love cuddling and resting on your lap

  • They are great with kids, no matter their age.

  • They get along with other pets

  • They might be tolerated by people allergic to cats


The cons of a sphynx cat.

  • sphynx cats can get distressed (and sometimes destructive) when left alone for long periods

  • they need help with keeping clean

  • they get cold easily

  • they can be too energetic

The origins and history of sphynx cats

The origin of sphynx cats can be confusing for some. They were originally named the Canadian hairless cats, so the sphynx got its start in Toronto (Canada). In 1966, a litter of domestic shorthair kittens included a hairless kitten as the result of a naturally occurring genetic mutation, and so the breed began.
