With the Round of 16 gone and a few unexpected departures from the Champions League, Man United looked happy with their draw but it wasn’t as easy as they thought. They drew 1-1 in the first leg and then Sevilla beat them 2-1 away from home.Another English team also said goodbye to the Champions League as Tottenham Hotspur lost to Juventus. Both legs were close as first leg finished 2-2 and the second leg finished 2-1 to Juventus. Manchester City made it look easy as they beat Basel 5-2 on aggregate despite losing 2-1 at home. Then another English team secured there place in the quarter finals as Liverpool beat Porto 5-0. A weak Besiktas drew a strong Bayern Munich. This lead to a 5-1 win for Bayern at home, then a 3-1 away leaving them with 8-2 win on aggregate.

Then there was PSG vs Real Madrid; this was the best game in the round and as PSG learnt,  ‘money doesn’t buy you the Champions League’ - they were beaten 3-1 and 2-1. Messi played a vital role in the Barcelona Vs Chelsea game; he skipped through their midfield as if they weren’t there. He scored a magnificent goal from such a ridiculous angle which slided straight through Thibaut Courtois’ legs. The rest of the Barcelona squad showed their class as well and beat Chelsea to move confidently into the quarter-finals.

The Champions League quarter-final drew the games: Barcelona vs Roma, Manchester City vs Liverpool, Real Madrid vs Juventus and Bayern Munich vs Sevilla. The games are all tough and competitive because this competition is only for the best teams.

In my opinion the teams that will proceed into the semi-finals are the strong teams such as Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but as anything can happen in football there could be major upsets in this competition that every wants to win. The game I feel that could cause the biggest upset is the Manchester City vs Liverpool game as it has happened before in the Premier League.

In my opinion I think that out of the semi final games, Liverpool vs Roma and Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich, that the Champions league final will be game between Real Madrid vs Liverpool final but it’s a sport where anything can happen and many upsets can be caused.
