Swedish DJ Avicii has sadly passed away on Friday 20th of April at the young age of 28. The sought-after DJ’s body was found in Muscat, Oman however no cause of death has yet been announced.

Celebrities and fans have tweeted and expressed their deepest condolences for his passing.

Fans are also using lyrics from chart topping single ‘The Nights’ in tribute, “One day you’ll leave this world behind, so live a life you will remember”.

As one of the biggest stars of electronic dance music, Avicii will be most remembered for his top hits which include Wake Me Up, Lonely Together, Hey Brother, Waiting For Love.

Avicii made many major accomplishments during his career and was one of the only DJs with a following that allowed him to perform sell out arena tours and at major events such as the closing ceremony of the 2014 World Cup. He has worked with some of the biggest names in music of our time such as Rita Ora and David Guetta. The Swede had also picked up many prestigious accolades such as the Grammy Award for Artist of the Year in 2014, Echo award for Song of the Year in 2014 and winning the MTV Europe music award for Best Swedish Act.

The DJ had struggled with many health problems in recent years. In 2014 he had his gallbladder and appendix removed in an operation. As a result, and to the dismay of his fans, he stopped touring in 2016 due to the battle with his health.  He has also been hospitalized twice in the past for issues with alcohol.

Avicii has, however, left a strong legacy behind due to his many musical releases and popular records.
