As we approach the festive season many of us are wondering, “What should I watch this Christmas?” Well, to help you, here are my Top 12 Christmas Movies.
12.) The Polar Express
Starring Tom Hanks, this festive family favourite is on many of our watch lists. A boy who doesn’t believe in Father Christmas boards a train in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve, and that train is the Polar Express. The journey takes him to the North Pole where he meets Father Christmas and once again he believes in it all. For fans of the film, you can take a trip on the Polar Express with your family nowadays where you will meet Father Christmas to receive a bell. You may also have a hot chocolate on the way.
11.) All I want for Christmas
When two children are feeling down due to the fact that their parents have divorced, they want to make it their mission to reunite their Mother and Father for Christmas.
10.) The Santa Claus
What will happen when Santa’s sleigh crashes on the roof of Scot Calvin’s house ? Well, he becomes Santa, of course. Scott does not believe in all things Christmas, but when it came down to his little boy Charlie, he said he would be Santa. Scott still didn’t believe it, but when he went to the North Pole and saw Bernie with all the other elves, he was just starting to believe in all things Christmas.
9.) Home Alone
When Kevin Macallister (Macaulay Culkin) is left home alone for Christmas whilst his whole family go away on holiday, what kinds of mischief could happen? When two burglars try to break in, Kevin sets up all sorts of traps to make sure the two burglars are not successful in their mission.
8.) Nativity 3: Dude, where’s my donkey?
This is the third film of the Nativity series and there’s plenty of Christmas catastrophes along the way! When the school of St. Bernadette's is in need of some help due to an inspection, and they mistake the inspector for the helper, what will they do to regain his memory after being kicked by Archie the donkey? Mr Shepherd is due to get married… how will they get Archie back if he's the only one to know where he is, and he’s lost his memory?
7.) The Grinch (Animated)
A remake of Jim Carrey’s incredible performance with all the same storyline and that iconic song. Cindy Lou Hoo of Hooseville tries to stop the Grinch from stealing Christmas and to show him the true meaning of Christmas.
6.) Noelle
A Disney+ original film about Santa Clause’s daughter. When Santa passes away and the hat is handed down to his son, Nick, things get to him, so his younger sister, Noelle, advises him to take a break for the weekend. With Christmas nearing and Nick still missing, how can Noelle save Christmas from her cousin Gabe only wanting to give 200 children presents worldwide? With her nanny, Polly the elf, perhaps that may just be possible.
5.) Godmothered
When a fairy godmother is looking for someone to make their dream come true, she finds an application for a godmother… unaware that this is an old application and the child is now 30. Mackenzie may actually be in need of a godmother more than she thinks.
5.) The Christmas Chronicles
A Netflix original film (2018). When Kate Pierce’s Mother has gone out to work on Christmas Eve, she is left to be looked after by her older brother Teddy. But, when Teddy is getting into trouble with his friends, Santa helps him turn that around and asks the two siblings to give him a little helping hand in order to save this year’s Christmas.
4.) Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger
An epic sequel to Nativity and it didn’t disappoint. When Mr. Peterson joins the students on a trip to Wales for, ‘What song for Christmas?’, they get up to all sorts of mischief and there is plenty of hilarious mayhem.
3.)Nativity
The original film. The one that started it all. Ever since day one, we have all been absolutely loving Nativity and when there are new nativity films that have been announced, we all get very excited.
2.)Nativity rocks
When Mr Poppy’s younger brother Jerry tracks down St. Bernadette school only to find out that Mr Poppy has gone to Australia in search of the headmistress, Mrs Bevan. St Bernadet’s also has a rock opera to look forward to, believe it or not.
1.) Elf
The top spot and it goes to, well, who else could it go to other than Elf? If you somehow haven’t had the joy of seeing this film, it’s about a boy who gets stuck in Santa’s sack and is taken to the North Pole to be raised by elves. He embarks on a mission to try and find his Dad.
