There are thousands of working horses worldwide but many are being mistreated. I think we all agree these beautiful animals need to stop working continuously for us. So let's find out how we can help them, and learn a lesson in how to care for animals big or small.

There are thousands of working horses worldwide but many are being mistreated. I think we all agree these beautiful animals need to stop working continuously for us. So let's find out how we can help them, and learn a lesson in how to care for animals big or small.
Working horses do many hours of work for us day and night, so you would think we would all be grateful and respectful towards these animals, but many horses are being worked too hard, leaving them tired, weak and untrusting to humans.These poor horses are getting no break, they start work in the morning and finish late at night with not enough food to keep them healthy.
The reason these beautiful creatures are being used selfishly is because some people who own horses (not all people) ,do not care enough about animals feelings and needs, so they force them to work to the bone. But, that does not explain exactly why they are used. These horses are used due to humans wanting aid for their own work, so they force horses to in unfair conditions, leaving them neglected and mistreated. This is known as animal abuse which is defined as: cruelty to animals, also called animal abuse, animal neglect or animal cruelty, is the infliction by animal neglect or by commission by humans of suffering or harm upon any animal.
One of the ways horses are being work for is transport and this could be transporting wood and other useful materials or that of transporting tourists around. Work like this is not something the horses enjoy. And, this is not the only way horses are being worked. Farmers use them to plough their ground as they are strong animals ,and before effective machinery was invented, horses were the best option. This mainly happened before modern machinery was invented, and was not meant to deliberately hurt the horses, however, sometimes it did, due to carelessness.
There are ways we can help the horses, one of the ways is by helping at, volunteering and/or donating to animal shelters or charities, so then they can take care of more neglected animals, helping them live a longer happier life away from abuse. We need to spread a positive message to all animal owners everywhere, so they understand that animals should have the right to live life a happy life and should have a home were the are safe from harm and danger. So, if you want to help spread the message, try and help the animal shelters.
Reading this should help us understand more about how to care for animals and spot when things have been taken too far. Personally, I think we should find out if people want to help to make a change. Most people I have questioned in a recent survey have said that this situation is not right it is "sinful". I have also received some longer replies to a survey I sent out, and people stated that “ I think horses deserve a nicer life that doesn't involve over-working and includes a good amount of time off. The poor creatures are doing all of our work for us, when it wouldn't kill us to help them out once in a while or at least some time of their busy lives. “ I strongly agree with this response because they can still work for us as long as we care for them in the correct way . Within the replies, there has also been opposing views too, which states that people feel happy about horses being worked, as they still receive rewards. This is down to personal opinion, but I believe that horses should have the rights to live a free and happy life.
