Stay Safe And Stay Positive

By Amalie Keefe

As England enters a second nationwide lockdown, how can we stay positive despite the impact of coronavirus on our mental health?

The rainbow has become the symbol of hope and positivity during the Covid pandemic

Methods of Positivity

Staying positive is one of the key things needed in order to be happy and healthy.

There are many ways in which you can try and stay positive. Here are some that you can try:

  • Have a long walk

  • Talk to friends or family

  • Do some arts and crafts: paint, make a collage, DIY

  • Read a book for over an hour

  • Sit and think about anything you would like

Keeping Positive

In this current time it is very hard to keep optimistic, with not being able to see grandparents or other family members, having to be home-schooled in the early stages of lockdown, being unable to go anywhere and seeing people, really hitting everyone hard. The coronavirus outbreak has resulted in positivity dropping for some people. But, with help from friends and family, we can come up with ways of keeping ourselves hopeful and positive. For example:

  • Calling/Texting friends

  • FaceTime with family

  • Going out on whole household walks

  • Drawing Rainbows for the NHS.

The Importance of Positivity

Staying positive is very important as it makes you relax and maintain a better mindset, which can help you in everything you do. Staying positive can develop your brain, to make it easier in the future to avoid negative thinking. This will help you lead a better life.

Having a positive attitude in school and at work is important too- it means that you work harder, concentrate more and therefore achieve and accomplish more, which means you have more time to do the things that you enjoy.

Overall, staying positive makes the world a better place, as well as making you happier and healthier. Stay Positive and Stay Safe!
