Warkworth is a beautiful calm town in Northumberland popular for visitors for its old buildings ,walks by the river Coquet and the coastal area. Having a peaceful stroll down the river then  a lovely picnic while watching the nature is a perfect way to relax. This spot is also highly popular for photographers and bird watchers. Popular birds around this area include: mallards, herons, black headed gulls and seagulls. Lots of these can be seen in and around the river. Warkworth is also popular for its welcoming shops; including, Grays, Cabosse, The Greenhouse, all of which are perfect for tourists as well as locals for finding that perfect gift.

Warkworth Castle was once owned by the Percy family from the 14th to the 17th century and was built in the mid 12th century on a rocky surface surrounded by a loop of the river Coquet. Hundreds of years later, English Heritage took over, caring for the castle from 1984 till now, which remains a magnet for tourists. If you take a leisurely stroll down the river you will find the Hermitage, which can be travelled to by a boat. The Hermitage was a chapel and a Priests house that was built into the cliff face. This piece of history remains a great place to explore the history.

St Lawrence's church has existed by the riverside for 1,200 years. It is a Norman building which is unique in Northumberland. Off the coast of warkworth and amble lies Coquet Island protected by the RSPB, which is a bird sanctuary for puffins and other protected birds. The island however, is closed to the public and only open for the RSPB who look after the birds. Amble Harbour, presented on this photo, is also another popular place to visit, with a small beach ideal for children and a market day on Sundays, which is again one of the many tourist attractions in Northumberland.
